HI, I’M DUNCAN CLAY, AKA ED THE TOONIST!

Cartoons, as well as autism, are my life.

Autism is a developmental disorder in which people generally think and do things differently than most others. It can be a challenge, but is often a gift. The way autistic people learn can be very impressive.

Before I was even two, I could work a VCR and play movies. Also, I was able to recite the plots, the characters’ lines and the musical numbers.

As I continued to enjoy sketching cartoons I either saw on TV or made up, I felt sure that my artwork was destined to become my career. Eventually, I began writing and illustrating kids’ learning books.

Wanting the guide of my series to be a fun one-of-a-kind, I designed a cartoonified version of myself with the ability of shapeshifting, dressing him in my favorite color, orange, and naming him Ed, excluding “the Toonist.”

My first book was published on April 8. From then on, I marked that special day as my book anniversary.

After a few years of spreading knowledge to kids, the current project I moved on to is a story series titled “Ed-Chantment.”

Having always been a tooner, a fan of cartoons, I hope to share the same color and joy with as many other tooners as I can.

Ed exists as an epic inspiration for imagination, creativity and friendship. Like they say: “Children deserve the best.”
